What is a case converter?
A case converter changes the capitalization of text without retyping it. It fixes the most common copy-and-paste problems: a headline written in ALL CAPS, a product list typed in lowercase, or titles in a CMS export that follow three different styles.
Most people need Title Case for headlines and post titles, and Sentence case for body text, buttons and UI labels. Title Case here follows the rule shared by the AP and Chicago style guides: capitalize every major word, and keep articles (a, an, the), coordinating conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for) and short prepositions (at, by, in, of, on, to…) lowercase — unless they are the first or last word, or start a subtitle after a colon.
Real text contains acronyms and brand names, so the converter can keep words such as NASA, SEO, iPhone and WordPress exactly as typed, while still fixing passages typed entirely in capitals. Line breaks are preserved, so you can convert a whole list of headlines at once. For programming identifiers like camelCase or snake_case, use the String Case Converter instead.
How to use the Case Converter
- Paste your text into the input box, or click Sample to try a headline and a paragraph with mixed capitalization.
- Click a case button — Sentence case, Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase, Capitalize Each Word, aLtErNaTiNg or InVeRsE. The result updates as you type.
- For Title Case, choose whether small words stay lowercase. Keep acronyms and brand names ticked to protect words like HTML or YouTube.
- Copy or download the result, or click Use as input to apply another conversion on top.

The Complete Guide to Wordpress Custom Post Types: What They Are and How to Use ThemTitle Case vs. Sentence case
Title Case capitalizes major words: "How to Choose a Hosting Plan for WordPress". Many news sites, books and blogs use it for headlines. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns: "How to choose a hosting plan for WordPress". Google's and Microsoft's style guides recommend it for UI text, and many modern blogs use it for headlines because it reads more naturally.
Whichever you choose, be consistent across your site. Proper nouns typed in lowercase (like "wordpress" in the example above) cannot be detected automatically — fix those by hand after converting.
Other cases
- Capitalize Each Word capitalizes every word, including "a", "of" and "the" — useful for names and labels.
- aLtErNaTiNg case alternates lower and upper case letter by letter, as used in memes and playful social posts.
- InVeRsE swaps every letter's case — handy when text was typed with Caps Lock on by mistake.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which words stay lowercase in Title Case?
a, an, the, and, but, or, nor, for, as, at, by, in, of, on, per, to, via, vs and v. They are capitalized when they are the first or last word or follow a colon. Longer prepositions such as "with", "from" and "about" are capitalized, as AP style requires.
Does the converter keep my line breaks?
Yes. Each line is handled separately in Title Case and every line starts with a capital in Sentence case, so lists and multi-paragraph text keep their structure.
Why did an acronym get lowercased?
Acronyms next to other all-caps words look like shouted text, so they are converted. If a passage is genuinely all acronyms, convert it with the option off, or fix the few words by hand.
How do I convert text to camelCase, snake_case or kebab-case?
Those are programming cases. Use the String Case Converter for identifiers, or the Slug Generator for URL slugs.
Is sentence case smart about abbreviations?
It does not start a new sentence after common abbreviations such as "e.g.", "Dr." or "etc.", and it capitalizes the pronoun "I". Names and places still need a manual check.
